Frequently Asked Questions

  • DMEI currently offers two categories of dance medicine focused continuing education courses: The comprehensive Foundational Dance Medicine Education Initiative Course and Specialty Courses.

  • The DMEI Foundational Course consists of a series of 4 Modules that offer allied healthcare practitioners a comprehensive education in dance medicine PT rehabilitation.

  • DMEI specialty courses are collaborations between Andrea Zujko and fellow dance medicine colleagues. They are structured to be shorter, more singularly focused workshops on movement analysis and re-education for the dancer.

  • Physical therapists, Athletic trainers, physicians, and chiropractors are welcome to attend the Modules in any order however, Module I is strongly recommended as a place to start for practitioners who are not licensed healthcare professionals as well as those who are new to working with dancers.

  • Allied healthcare practitioners, somatic practitioners and dance educators who already practice in or are interested in the field of dance medicine are welcome to attend any DMEI continuing education course. This includes physical therapists, athletic trainers, physical therapy assistants, massage therapists, dance teachers, dance educators, Pilates instructors and Gyrotonic instructors. Physicians and chiropractors are also welcome to attend any of the DMEI course offerings.
